Quick weight loss is possible, but it should be approached safely, carefully, and on only a short term basis. Trying to lose weight too fast by restricting calories drastically, will only defeat the body's ability to lose weight in the long run because starvation only leads to self defense. The body will reduce its metabolic rate and reset at that lower level so that when food is again increased, it goes to storage and increases weight.
If you upset the body's natural balance, you will not win. The body and mind will ultimately work towards survival, and if that means retaining fat, you will not be able to lose weight. The better plan is to use any quick weight loss plan on a very short term basis, like a day at a time, and certainly not longer than a few days. Alternate the strict diet with some normal calorie intake days, and lose weight a little faster than if you did everyday at a controlled caloric intake.
