Those First Ten Pounds


There are so many weight loss diets out there that choosing the one that worked for me seemed impossible. My husband told me to simply eat less and exercise more and I will lose the weight. That is all good in theory but it is hard to take advise from a man who so much as thinks the words 'lose weight' and it falls from his body while I struggle with every single pound. So I tried skipping meals, and attempting to starve myself. That worked for about a pound then I ended up eating so much in the end that I actually gained weight. I tried game consoles to work out and got told by a computerized voice that my real age was twenty years older and I was 'overweight'. Yeah thanks-that helped a lot. After discovering that if I tried to follow a strict work out plan or weight loss diet I would always let my self down by not doing exactly what I should, I studied different weight loss diets and exercise programs on line and cherry picked the information from each one the fit into my own life. One diet recommended that I eat several small meals a day instead of two or three large ones. This was an 'ah-ha' moment for me! I love snacks, but could never justify the extra calories in my diet. Now I could eat when I want, as long as I chose what and how much wisely. I rediscovered my love of yogurt and apples from childhood. A fresh salad or cup of fruit would put food cravings out of my head for an hour or two and then I could eat a small meal or another snack, all in all my calorie intake each day was smaller and I had more energy to exercise. By gleaning what information I could from assorted weight loss diets and molding them to fit me personally I have finally lost that first ten pounds! I know it still may be an uphill battle at points but I have a variety online resources to guide me on my journey to good health and fitness.
