Fast weight loss is possible, but in most cases it is not advisable. The main reason to be careful about trying to lose weight fast, is that it can be harmful to your body, and in the long run can defeat your weight loss efforts. This is why you should make sure that you still maintain a reasonable diet while attempting to lose weight. When you restrict calories drastically, your body does feed upon itself, on stored fat, but also important muscle. By restricting calories to lose weight, your body does its natural thing and slows down the metabolism mechanism because it believes you are in a starvation situation, and in self defense the body does not want to lose any mass. If you try to lose weight fast by increasing exercise to outrageous levels, you can do harm to your internal organs because of the added stress. You will burn calories faster, but research has proven that the better way to use exercise to lose weight and burn fat is by doing interval exercises, and not full out heavy exercise. In some ways, losing weight fast is only a dream. It is the fantasy of every overweight person. That excess weight did not come on to your body quickly, and it is much safer to develop a long range lifestyle and eating program that you can live with, that provides adequate nutrition, energy, and calories to keep your body functioning as it should, without excesses. Make every calorie you intake count, and go to no less than 1200 to 1500 calories a day. 1800 calories to 2400 calories is much better, especially if you are not spending your calories on useless junk foods. Do a reasonable amount of exercise to tone muscles and shape the body. The important thing to remember is that calories count. You need to count them, and stick to your allotment daily, and do some type of exercise. Fast weight loss is not healthy weight loss. Even those persons who have surgical procedures and lose weight fast can experience drastic and sometimes fatal complications. A balanced, reasonable plan every day is the best way to slowly reach your goals, and remain safe and healthy.
