To find diets that really do work you want to look for diets that promote healthy habits that help you make life changes that will keep the weight off.

Healthy diets encourage you to eat a reasonable amount of healthy food. Healthy diets also recommend you getting a significant amount of exercise. You can create a healthy diet for yourself by figuring out the amount of daily calories that you need, and avoiding excessive fats and sugars. To lose weight healthily you will need to exercise, even 30 minutes a day will help.

When you first start a diet you will often lose a lot of weight the first week, this is normal. After the first week you can expect to lose about 2-3 pounds a week.
